As a Chicagoan, I am so lucky to have the city skyline and lakeshore as photoshoot backdrops. I decided it would be the perfect spot to take some new 'professional' headshots, but, as you can see in these photos, our photoshoot turned out to be a little more fun than expected.

For this look, I wanted to convey that I am a creative professional. I mixed up some classic work wear staples with a white blazer, black stilettos, light wash high waisted jeans, and a black crop top. I really loved these pieces together and cannot wait to wear them again!

As far as professionalism goes, this white blazer is a must. Perfect for summer, it is light weight and has a great feel to it. I especially cannot wait to dress it down with a graphic tee or tank.

These black stilettos have some gold detail on the instep, which really takes a classic black stilletto to the next level. Black heels are a wardrobe staple, and these have the perfect amount of spunk to mix up your professional wardrobe.

style tip: for some extra drama, drape your blazer over your shoulders and strike a power pose! (see below)

And if a crop top scares you, you can always sport a longer top. But confidence is always the best accessory in my opinion.
